What is Happening at the Shelter
July 19th.... Oh Boy! Can you tell what this is?? it is a PITIFUL little Lhasa- Apsa Girl who came into the shelter today! I have NEVER seen one sooo matted before- poor girl had things poking into her skin all over her, her feet are so sore from matts between her toes, she could not see, scabs all over, and PEW!! Thanks to judy she got here safely, and also with judy's help got shaved, and a great bath!! There really is a dog under there! We do think she is blind and deaf... Time will tell if i think she can see or hear, but as of now it does not look good. She is VERY happy now- she feels great! i am calling her "Lady" for now... if anyone has any good ideas for names, send them to me! She is seriously looking for a sponsor so she can have a new bed, colar, leash, treats, and some good food and a new bowl! If you would like to help her please let us know!
July 14th. - Hello everyone!
I have been soooo busy and have had so much going on here at the shelter i don't even know if i can remember it all. FIRST Thank you to Floss at Denkai Animal Sanctuary for letting me take 8 dogs and 1 cat to the spay/neuter clinic. I got NINE animals altered in one day! That saved me 16 trips to Cheyenne! Everyone recovered from surgery just fine, and are now ready for adoption. YEAH!
Shane the little Maltese arrived also. Thanks to all you women out there who fostered him, and got him safely on the transport. I do not know if it is even possible to tell you about this poor guy. he is tiny and white, and the scardest dog i have EVER seen. He clings to me so hard he feels like he has the strenght of a doberman! Shakes uncontrolably, and will not set foot on the ground. I literally have to hold him, and lay myself down on the ground to get him there. Then if his tiny foot touches the ground he FREAKS out.... he is going to need ALOT of work, and patience and understanding. One day i will get him socialized, and he will be a different dog! If anyone would like to sponsor him, let me know. For 25$ a month you can sponsor any animal here!
The outdoor pens for the new shelter are DONE!! yahooooooo! I am 1/2 way done with the inside pens, and starting on the 2 walk-in cat cages. It is all comming together faster than i thought it would!
The next dog comming in ( that i know about ) is a tiny Yorkie named DD. he has had mange, and is "Ugly" now so nobody wants him...will tell more details after i meet him Wednesday.
Kiwi, and Goldie have both gone to their new homes, and are doing awsome!! Checkers also went to his new home, but he ending up comming back. Tanner and cala were AWSOME and paid 100% attention to his needs, and it just did not work out. He is now going to stay here, and has full run of the shelter to call his own. So when you come to visit you will get wiggly greetings from Checkers! aka "Moose".
Many people are comming to visit animals this week, and Maggie Mae has to go to the Dr. and see about her tumnor.
THANK YOU to everyone for your support, and all of your work on the internet searching for things for me. Can anyone come and live at the ranch w/ us and cook, clean, mow, and be my secratary so i can take care of all the animals?? :)
June 26th- All of you have been GREAT this month helping out with these new babies! Things are comming along GREAT here at the shelter, and progress is comming along THANKS TO YOU!!
I have listed ALOT of the animals here at the shelter under www.petfinder.com - There are SOO many, that listing them on this site and that site is WAY time consuming. So also look there to see some.I have put the link on the home page so you cn always find it! :)
http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/CO232.html
There are also some new kittens here!
The 3 Golden/Lab puppies have arrived. 2 are BLACK as night, and look like a golden. They are soooo sweet, but so scared. Also not socialized much, but totally better now! 1 is black with tan ticking, and he is just gorgeous! ~ There is also 2 Italian greyhound/chihauhau cross females. They are really petite, and look like minature Italian Greyhounds. They are soooo scared, but comming along nicely!
Next week a scared to death one-eyed Maltese named Shane is comming on transport from Missouri. He is needing our help!
"Shane"
The little 8 year old Shi-tzu has also arrived. THANK YOU Carol for driving her all the way up here! What a DOLL!! The GOOD news about her is she is only blind in one eye, and can see shadows out of the other. SO- she can get around really good, and has already made great friends here at the ranch house w/ Abagail and Scrappy. She also got to spend the night in the BIG bed! She does have a tumor on her tummy.... That will have to be looked at and then beware.... if she has to have surgery i will be calling for help again!! I will put her picture up on the Sanctuary animals page so you all can see her!
BIGGEST thank you ever to Rick the managr at Southerland's in Cheyenne for donating some of the much needed panels! your the best!!!!!!!

All are from a breeder release. THANK YOU Judy for comming out and helping hold these guys while i cut matts out, going with me to get them all loaded, ADOPTING one of them :), AND for the huge garbage bag of toys, and treats for them! NOW they will know what all that fun stuff is! ALSO THANK YOU to all of you who have sent donations to help with their vet care. ALL will have to be altered before they can be adopted. Work on the new shelter building is comming along. I still badly need donations for panels. It should be an AWSOME place for all these babies to live when it gets done! There will be a washer/dryer, grooming table, and a huge cat room with LOTS of shelves and fun places to hide!
Hello Everyone! My name is "Harley". I was dumped in a shelter down South, and Tami and Judy made ALOT of arrangements and got me transported up to Hope4FuzieFaniez. I am a Senior Cocker Spaniel, and i was so matted and dirty that when my people dumped me at that shelter the staff said because i looked so horrible they were gonna kill me. I got my hair all shaved off & Boy do i feel better! Everyone was calling me a BOY, but now they know i am a GIRL. I have something wrong w/ my ears and they are really bothering me. Tami says i am going to the Dr. in the morning, and that because of my age i will probably end up staying at Hope4FuzieFaniez. We are looking for people to help sponsor me so i can live here! I like it here! Tami rubs my belly and makes sure i am warm and happy and i get alot of nice food. If any of you want to help me and all my new furry friends here out, you can send donations to Hope4FuzieFaniez - 70 road 156- Carpenter, Wy - 82054. We REALLY appreciate all of you and your helping us. We would not be alive if it were not for all you nice people! THANK YOU!!
In other news here at the shelter, The Doberman has gone to his new home with a 5 year old boy. The 2 of them hit it off RIGHT away, and played and kissed and hugged. Thank you Zach and Theresa, and Braden for giving this great guy an awsome home!
Sadly the little 2 day old puppy "Wiggles" has passed away. RIP little Wiggles, i will remember you always.
THANK YOU to everyone who has helped out this past month- I am gaining on spays and neuters, and because of you lives are saved!
The list is endless of all the dogs i see pictures of daily who need help. Construction is still under way to expand here so we can help MORE animals in need. I am trying to find someone to update my website more frequently for me so you all can have more updates. The work is non-stop for me, so thanks for your patience! Again let me know if you find any info on grants available, or just plain have any great ideas for fundraisers!
THE POODLES ARE HERE!!!
I have made a seperate page about the rescue of Toby & Katie. Look at the POODLES page, and you can read all about them. THANK YOU to everyone for your help getting them here safely!!!!
Hi All! March 4th- Just an update on the poodles. They are "cockapoos"- meaning a cocker spaniel/ poodle cross. one male and one female. white and tan. young- like 6 months old. they were wondering the streets down in southern Missouri and got turned into the animal control place there.Where they have 5 days until they are euthanized. Thanks to a nice man named james, And Marilyn- they are now at Marilyn's house and safe!!! She is keeping them for me until they get on a transport to KCMO the 12th. Then on another transport to Denver. Thanks to Nita, Gay, Jessie, and Sandy for your help for these two!!! YOU saved their lives!
Urgent! Help is neede for 2 little poodles comming in from Southern Missouri. They are young guys who were dumped in the streets. Now they are sitting in an animal control facility waiting for a lady to go pick them up for me. THANK YOU MARILYN!!! Funding is needed to get them to Colorado, and veted. If you can help the poodles, please E-mail me! Donations can be sent to Hope4FuzieFaniez, 70 rd 156, carpenter, Wy 82054.
Also thank you to Sunny and family who gave little "Tank" a new home- sounds like it was just meant to be for all of you!! YEAH!
Check out the new dogs "Marina" & "Karat" on the dogs 1 page. And also the new page i am adding to tell a bit about how the transports work.
I want to tell everyone the story of "Hope" first thing.Right before Christmas i got a call about a dog who needed out of one of the shelters because her time was up there. It was Christmas, and with her name being "Hope", and The sanctuary being "Hope"4 FuzieFaniez, i just felt i needed to get her saved for Christmas. I called them and told them i would take her, and they said another rescue has spoken for her.... Wich was GREAT! She was out and safe.... The next week AFTER Christmas, i get an E-mail saying this dog "Hope" was due to be euthanized at the same shelter... i could not figure out what the deal was! So i called back. Well, the other rescue did not show up to get her, and she had also gotten adopted and brought back all in one week. SO NOW i said i would take her. Somoeone i do not even know transported her to Cheyenne for me. (I believe a total of 8 hours). And Friend Judy brought her out. Well.... here is "Hope", an Old English Sheepdog- Basset Hound cross! ha! what a combination! She is the funniest looking gal, but whet a SWEETIE! She is just happy happy happy and bounces all over. She reminds me of Whinnie The Poo! So "Hope" is here and safe after a horrible nightmare for her.... her picture can be seen on the dogs page, and she is looking for a forever home!
For the past 2 weeks a large group of people from here to Arkansas have been working on getting 28 dogs safely out of kill shelters to us smaller rescues and sanctuaries. It was a TON of work for many people, and such a fantastic sucess! I am trying to get a page on my site that explains the "Transporting" that goes on to get all these dogs to safety. It is absolutely unbelievable! And you would be amazed at ALL that goes on! I wish you could read the E-mails i get daily so you could better understand all that is involved. And the people are awsome! I got 2 dogs today from this transport. One is a Min-pin. She s tiny, 5 years old, and scared to death! We hopefully have a home for her already, but if anyone is interested let me know. Also a 1 year old mix of some kind. She is all white, and has a body that looks like a lab, only she weighs about 25 lbs. She has tan around her ears and specks on her nose. We thought she was very hyper at first, but now that i have gotten to know her she just LOVES to cuddle, and then is calm as can be. She stands up and i swear just HUGS on me and won't let go! Her name is "Marina".
If anyone can help with fostering an animal- please contact me. And realize that if that animal does not get adopted it may need to stay with you frever! :)
Also if you would like to be on our transpoprt list, please send your name and phone # and i will get it added to the list. You may get a call to do a 'leg" of a transport in your area to help get an animal to safety!
Your donations help with MANY things. food and litter of course, but other things i am sure nobody realizes. Gas, propane, electricity, stamps, printer ink, laundry, websites, telephone, internet, piddle pads, cleaning supplies (endless), car insurance so i can transport all these critters, fencing, blankets, pillows, grooming supplies, on and on!
Be sure and get a kleenex, and look at my new page called "Poems".
There are SIX new cats i got in yesterday from a shelter who was going to euthanize them because of a sneeze. All are better after just 2 days of meds, and all are awsome!! There are 2 sisters wwho are siamese mixes. 1 year olds, and sweet as pie. 2 Grey tabbies, young, a boy and a girl. one very little guy named Fabian who is an orange and white kitten. One 1 year old BIG girl who is mostly white with spots of grey tabby on her. All of them are sooooo sweet, and SAFE now!
Also, a 2 year old rat terrier female dog. She is little and cute as a bug. She is a bit hyper, but seems to get better as the days go by and she gets some attention! She was due to be euthanized because she did not pass the "Pinch" test where they pinch them all over their body to see what their reaction is.... well- she growled. I WOULD TOO if someone pinched me!!! So she is also here safe and sound now...
Tomorrow "Joleene" the 10 YO tabby cat w/ 6 toes who has been here almost a year is going to her new home in New Mexico!! Thanks Jessica for taking this awsome cat and giving her a great safe home for the rest of her days!
Sept 17th today. Just wanted to update everyone on the 2 rescue puppies who have been at the vet clinic for the last 5 days with Parvo. Today the bigger Boy gets to come home! Little Savanna is still alive, and seems a bit better but is not out of the woods yet. Than you all who have been crossing you fingers for these two! Hopefully soon they can BOTH come home. If you want to donate specifically to these two let me know as this will be a very scary bill! But worth it. :) UPDATE: Savanna is HOME and 100% FINE! Both puppies are great and have found their new forever homes!!
If you are reading this and would like to be put on the list for our newsletter we send out monthly by E-mail, please send me an E-mail and i will add you to the list! fuziefaniez0@yahoo.com
Only one new cat has come in this month. A GREAT Siamese. A gal called from Cheyenne and said one was living around an apartment complex there for a few weeks. This gal was doing construction and would see him every day eating in the garbage, and hiding under cars to get out of the rain. She took him to the clinic and had him tested for me and a friedn drove him out. I was not prepared, and took him to the ranch until i could figure out where he would be most comfortable.... well, i think i he is going to get to live there! Cross your fingers.....
It has been crazy here as usual. The BAD thing is that Sparky the cat spent a week at the vet clinic with a urinairy iinfection. I now have a 370.00$ bill to pay. Help with that one would be MORE than appreciated! He is doing great now tho. What a big orange sweetie who needs a new home!
Maggie Mae the big black dog who came in a long time ago w/ the B/C's Finally went to her new home yesterday. What a great ending to a sad, sad story! YEAH Maggie!
My Friend Linda Lee is taking the 2 female B/C's to her sanctuary. They get to live there forever, and not have to worry about going anywhere else. Linda and her friend Mike will work with them and hopefully get them better socialized. Thanks Linda Lee! Also THANK YOU for the washer and dryer!!!!!!
I have to thank Steve and Karen for the most exciting day ever here.... Karen decided to faint on us a few times while they were out to visit cats. We had to call 911 and have the ambulance and all kinds of paramedics, and the guys from the volunteer fire dept all come out. Thankfully Karen is o-kay! And everyone say a prayer she will continue to be o-kay! And yes Karen.....you can still have your cats! :) ~ another thing that hapened during all this that is amazing to me...... there were trucks and people and noise all over this place and all these dogs who normally will blow the roof off with their barking when someone comes were quiet as little mice..... unbelievable! Tell me they did not know something was happening that they needed to be good for! Little angels.....
My friend Robyn made a website about me. i have had it listed at the bottom of this page, but just now saw i had the web address wrong. It is www.angel4pets.mysite.com Thanks Robyn for making this site!!!!
"Hanz" has been adopted! Thank you to Ashley for giving this great guy a new home! The last time i saw "Hanz", he was sitting in the backseat of Ashley's pickup in the middle of his new puppy friend, and Ashley's 2 year old son. Hanz was cleaning up after his new buddy who was eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.........
Thank you to Vicky who has sponsored Tina Marie! Tina is an ancient Himalayan who has been here over a year. Somebody finally has taken her under their wing. GREAT!!! Thank you Vicky
Today i got a wonderful donation and beautiful card all the way from Florida from Debra and her cat Tiffany who recently passed away. I hope that soon the hurt will go away from loosing her. It is a horrible thing to go thru, but just remember you gave her the best life ever and you did everything you could for her while she was here- and she knows it!! Thank you! that was VERY special!
I found 4 6- month old puppies in a DISGUSTING horse trailer living at some peoples house. The trailer was used as the garbage truck, and the puppies lived in there without any food and water. I did not have the funding to get them all spayed, so i asked my "friends" to help in anyway, and Floss from Denkai Animal Sanctuary saved the day and took them all to her sanctuary. They are now all spayed and healthy and up for adoption. They are Austrailian Shephard/ healer crosses if anyone is interested in one of them let me know! THANK YOU FLOSS!
Starting off June..... Oh Boy! this place is crazy! I had a call from a gal at a Humane society. She said an older couple were BOTH in the hospital and never comming home. They had 6 cats. 2 of wich are 17. Their daughters were trying to place them together in a sanctuary somewhere. i said i would take them if they would help me out paying for them. Well, the 6 cats turned into 4 (she couldn't catch 2 of them) , and the 4 turned into 3( one had to be euthanized). I took them to the vet in a stinky, poopy carrier and they were a mess. Dr. Bob said he has never seen earmites that bad. The one they said had brain damage actually had earmites so bad she wabbles when she walks because her ears are so messed up. The one 17 year old had puss around all her teeth, kidney failure and all kinds of horrible stuff wrong with her. She was in PAIN. She had to be put down.... The 3 that are here are doing good, and getting massive earmite treatment. To Top it all off i am getting NO help from these people now..... At least they are safe and healthy now. They are all three looking for a sponsor if anyone wasnt to spend 15$ a month to help with one let me know!
A tiny old poodle named "Punkin" is now residing here at the sanctuary. She came from Topeka Kansas, and was in a shelter there for a month. They said she came in as a stray. She weighs about 5 pounds, is VERY thin, scared to death, and has a Horrible eye infection. After about 5 days she is very comfortable here, and barks louder than any dog here because she wants FOOD! She is also looking for a sponsor for as long as she has left.... her picture can be seen on the sanctuary animals page.
The Gals from Denver were up Sunday bringing a truck load of supplies and an awsome dinner!! Thank you Kathie for driving, Judy for getting everything together, Liz for just being plain sweet, and John for keeping them all in line! Also to Gay, Penny, Sandy, Carol, the Burdicks and Sheila for sending MUCH needed stuff!!![]()
I also got in a 4 YO blue-heeler. Hi name is "Scrappie". His owners could not afford a dog anymore. He is awsome, and i had him here for about 1/2 a day and John took him over to the ranch and he is now staying there and spoiled rotten along with Abagail. YEAH!
THE PUPPIES HAVE ARRIVED!!
A friend of mine had 8 border collie/ australian shephard puppies dumped at her house with a note saying "keep them, sell them, or shoot them"...... I told her i would keep them at the shelter and try and find them homes. She brought 5 of them today. 3 of them are already adopted! The 2 that are still available are on the "adoptable puppies page". So far they have been piled up in the back of their doghouse hiding all day. Poor babies are totally not socialized, very thin, and scared to death. It shouldn't take me long to get them over that tho! Help is still needed to get them all spayed and neutered before they go to their new homes. Thanks to Martee for bringing them out, and for taking care of them until they got here!
14 Cats Rescued From Euthanasia!
14 cats were brought out to me that were taken out of the euthanasia room at the local pound. They were due to die and they got out just in time! They can be seen on the "Adoptable Animals 1 & 2 " pages. All of them are healthy now and ready for their new loving homes.
I am thinking we had better keep the 12$ apiece donations for their testing an ongoing thing!!! The others are now freeley roaming the shelter, and feeling more like they are in a "Home" thanks to all of you and your donations! i would like to get 3 cat trees for them to play on! So keep the donations comming, and we will make even more progress!![]()
5-4-07 I want to say thank you to Dani and Louise who have sent help for the puppies all the way from the Netherlands!!!
May 24- Another Thank-you to Jack & Judy. They found an old 10 x 10 deck for me to put on the front of the house. Now with all the fencing they donated, i can let the dogs lounge around on the new deck!! and under it for shade!
Also.... A BIG thank you to my friend Robyn who has made a website about me, and is desperately trying to get donations for me. She is all the way in SD, and wants to help so bad but is so far away. So she came up with this awsome idea. The website can be seen at www.angel4pets.mysite.com ![]()
Trailer House Donated!
For those of you who do not know yet, my neighbors Denny and Merle have donated to me a 14 x 75' trailer house. We had quite a few LONG, HARD days of work moving it over here, but it is finally here!! There is a huge bedroom, a small bedroom, a bathroom, Livingroom, and a big kitchen. It needs alot of work, but it is slowly comming along. There will eventually be LOTS of room for rescued animals in there! YEAH!
My Neices Fundraiser
My neice Jerri who lives all the way in Emmetsburg, iowa is having her student council do some fundraising for me. Every year they raise money for something, and this year they voted to do it for my shelter! I will have updates regularly on what she has got going on! Thanks Boo Bee!
3-1-07 Ted Ellis from Emmetsburg was headed out to cheyenne, and we talked him into bringing all the things my neice collected. All the goodies have arrived safely, and are WONDERFUL!!! You all in EHS did a great job!! Thank you all, and thanks Ted for hauling it all out here!!
